Official symbols of Novozybkov
Arms
Novozybkov's Arms represents a green sheaf of hamp and a golden Mercure's warder which are criciformly situated in its silver field on a French shield.
Mercure's warder is a symbol of trade. Novozybkov was a big trade center at the beginning of 19th century.
Four big trade fairs hold here every year.
Agricultue was a main occupation of population of Novozybkov's district.
Early hemp growing was the main feature of Novozybkov's agriculture.
More than 200 thousand tithes was placed by hemp in 1840. Hemp was used as a staple for making stipe and cannabis oil.
Part of stipe was manufactured in Klimovo suburb at a sail-factory. There was a big creamery in Demenka suburb.
Comment
Alongside with this there were two another variants of Novozybkov's Arms.
1. A French shield devided into two parts and decorated with golden crown. Arms of Chernigov province is in the top (smaller) part of arms.
The lower part has a golden vertical stripe in a green field with golden coins on both sides of it.
2. A French shield, crowned with a silver crown, surrounded by two golden ears linked by Alexander's ribbon.
Silver post attended by four golden Bizantium's coins is situated in the green shield's field.

Flag of Novozybkov represents an orthogonal breadth devided into three equal horizontal stripes: white, green, yellow.
The image of Novozybkov's Arms is placed to the top (white) stripe.
